Vientiane: Vietnam's Party, State, and people have expressed steadfast support for Laos in its ongoing national reform initiatives, as articulated by Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam during an interview with the Vietnam News Agency in Vientiane. This statement comes ahead of the 70th anniversary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), which will be commemorated on March 22, 2025.

According to Lao News Agency, the LPRP has spent the past seventy years crafting policies tailored to Laos' unique historical and socio-economic landscape. Since 1986, the Party has diligently evaluated the country's circumstances, leveraging international insights to forge effective policies aimed at advancing socialism. The efforts include fortifying the democratic system, establishing an autonomous economy, and fostering national unity to safeguard and develop its political framework.

Ambassador Tam commended these significant achievements, highlighting their vital role in Laos' growth and prosperity. He emphasized that these milestones not only benefit Laos but also provide inspiration to Vietnam as it pursues its own path toward national advancement, modernization, and development.

He further expressed optimism that Laos will continue to reach new heights in its reform journey, particularly in realizing the objectives of its 11th National Party Congress Resolution and preparing for the forthcoming congress in early 2026. The vision is for Laos to become a peaceful, independent, democratic, unified, and prosperous nation, committed to the path of socialism.

Tam also underscored the deep-rooted Vietnam-Laos relationship, initially established by President Ho Chi Minh and Lao presidents Kaysone Phomvihane and Souphanouvong. This relationship has been nurtured by generations of leaders and citizens from both countries, evolving robustly across various sectors.

The strong ties between the two nations continue to yield tangible benefits and play a pivotal role in ensuring regional and global peace, stability, cooperation, and development, the ambassador remarked.
