Vientiane:The 10th National Assembly will convene for its second ordinary session from October 5 to 21, 2026, at the National Assembly building in Vientiane. The session will focus on deliberating and deciding on significant national matters.
According to Lao News Agency, Mr. Bounchan Sivongphanh, a member of the Party Central Committee and NA Standing Committee, and Head of the NA Secretariat, shared details about the session’s agenda during a press briefing on October 1. The assembly will evaluate and approve the election and appointment of state personnel and review government reports on the 2026 National Socio-Economic Development Plan, State Budget Plan, and Monetary Plan, along with setting targets for 2027.
Additionally, reports from the State Audit Organization on its 2026 work plan, its 2027 work plan, and audit results related to the 2025 final State Budget implementation will be assessed. The session will also cover performance reports and future directions for 2027 from the National Assembly, State Inspection Authority, Supreme People’s Prosecutor-General, and Supreme People’s Court.
The National Assembly is set to consider and vote on eight draft laws, including a new Draft Law on Deposit Protection and amendments to laws concerning the Government, Lao People’s Army Officers, Lao People’s Public Security Forces, Civil Aviation, Road Traffic, Cybercrime Prevention and Countermeasures, and Alcoholic Beverage Control.
