Vietnamese Embassy and Community Honor Late Lao National Assembly President

Vientiane: A delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy, representative agencies, and the Vietnamese community in Laos, led by Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam, paid tribute to President of the National Assembly Xaysomphone Phomvihane in Vientiane on 10 August. According to Lao News Agency, in a solemn and deeply moving atmosphere, the delegation laid a wreath and observed a minute of silence in memory of Xaysomphone Phomvihane. He was recognized as an outstanding leader of the Lao Party, State, and people, an eminent son of the multi-ethnic Lao populace, and a close, loyal, and trusted friend of the Party, State, National Assembly, and people of Vietnam. Writing in the condolence book at the memorial service, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam, on behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy, representative agencies, and the Vietnamese community in Laos, expressed profound sorrow. He conveyed his deepest condolences to the Lao Party, State, National Assembly, and people, as well as to the bereaved family.
