Vientiane:More than 500 stalls featuring local products, including One District One Product (ODOP) goods, handicrafts, textiles, and food, are anticipated at the 2026 Chomcheng Boat Racing Festival in Vientiane, scheduled for October 14-18.
According to Lao News Agency, Mrs. Chitpaserth Vichitlasy, Head of the Sisattanak District Office of Industry and Commerce, announced on October 7 that preparations for the trade fair are in progress. The event aims to gather businesses and producers from Vientiane and nearby provinces.
The exhibition and sales area will present a variety of products, such as ODOP goods, model family products, cotton and silk textiles, handicrafts, traditional herbal medicines, food, beverages, household goods, and clothing.
The fair is designed to promote locally made products, provide market opportunities for ODOP producers, and support small businesses and model families, aligning with the development goals for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
Organizers expect the five-day event to attract both local residents and international visitors. It offers opportunities to purchase domestic products while enjoying cultural activities and traditional boat racing competitions.
The public is encouraged to attend the fair and participate in the annual celebration, which combines trade promotion, local product displays, and traditional festivities.
