Vietnamese Consulate General Celebrates Vietnam’s National Day with Emphasis on Laos Friendship

Pakse: The Vietnamese Consulate General in Pakse organized a ceremony in Champasak province, southern Laos, on August 12 to commemorate the 80th National Day of Vietnam, which falls on September 2, 1945 - 2025. In her speech, Consul General Ta Phuong Dung emphasized Vietnam's historic achievements over the past eight decades, particularly highlighting the nation's progress following 50 years of reunification and nearly 40 years of the Doi moi (Renewal) reforms.

According to Lao News Agency, Consul General Dung pointed out that Vietnam's successes have been intricately linked to the support of international allies, with a special focus on the profound and lasting relationship with the Party, State, and people of Laos. She described the Vietnam-Laos relationship as a priceless asset that has been nurtured across generations.

Alounxay Sounnalath, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Governor, represented four southern Lao provinces at the event. He expressed his appreciation for the unique friendship between Vietnam and Laos, referring to it as a cherished legacy and an essential source of strength for the development and protection of both nations. Sounnalath highlighted that cooperation between the four southern Lao provinces and Vietnam's central and southern provinces has yielded tangible benefits, particularly in areas such as diplomacy, infrastructure, education, and investment, thanks to Vietnam's consistent support.

The celebration also included cultural performances that underscored the themes of patriotism and the enduring friendship between Vietnam and Laos. Additionally, a photo exhibition on President Ho Chi Minh was showcased, illustrating his crucial role in nurturing the distinctive relationship between the two countries.
