Quang Ngai:The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ngai province and the Lao Front for National Construction Committee of Champasak province held discussions on September 25 to enhance cooperation and share experiences between the two localities.
According to Lao News Agency, the talks were led by Y Thi Bich Tho, Standing Vice President of the Quang Ngai VFF Committee, and Vatsana Silima, Chairwoman of the Champasak side. Both parties aimed to educate officials, Party members, and the public, particularly young people, about the strong friendship and strategic partnership between Vietnam and Laos.
They agreed to improve public understanding of the shared history and achievements of both nations, encouraging exchanges between local chapters and communities through suitable activities. The two committees will also share information regularly to maintain bilateral relations and coordinate events commemorating significant anniversaries, as guided by their respective Parties and States.
Efforts will focus on promoting economic cooperation, investment, and trade under each country’s laws, alongside public support for locating, recovering, and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese experts and volunteer soldiers who died in Laos. Additionally, the Quang Ngai committee provided 200 million VND (7,600 USD) to Champasak for social welfare initiatives.
The discussions concluded with an agreement to further cooperation, with a planned visit by a Champasak delegation to Quang Ngai next year, reinforcing the ties between the countries’ Parties, States, and people.
