Vientiane:The Swiss Red Cross Office in Laos recently provided vehicles and project equipment to the Lao Red Cross to enhance blood donation services and emergency preparedness in schools and communities.
According to Lao News Agency, the handover ceremony took place at the National Blood Institute in Vientiane, attended by key figures such as Mr. Khamlavone Chanthalavanh, President of the Lao Red Cross, and Mrs. Binita Poudel, Representative of the Swiss Red Cross in Laos, among other officials.
This support is part of two major initiatives: the National Blood Transfusion Service Project, which focuses on strengthening blood donation mobilization and ensuring a safe blood supply, and the School and Community Emergency Preparedness Project.
The donated equipment aims to boost efforts in mobilizing blood donations, securing safe blood supplies, and enhancing emergency preparedness and response capabilities in schools and communities.
Prior to the handover, officials delivered a report detailing the activit
ies and achievements of these projects, underscoring the progress made through the collaboration between the Lao and Swiss Red Cross.
