Hanoi: Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, has extended his heartfelt condolences to Mr. C.C. Khanan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal, in response to a natural disaster that impacted the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts on August 26.
According to Lao News Agency, Mr. Thongsavanh sent a message of condolence on August 27, 2026, expressing his sorrow over the tragic event that resulted in a significant loss of life and property damage among local communities.
In his message, he conveyed his deepest sympathy on behalf of the Government and people of the Lao PDR, as well as personally, to the Government and people of Nepal. His sentiments were particularly directed towards the families of those who lost their lives and all individuals affected by the disaster.
Mr. Thongsavanh also expressed confidence that the Nepalese Government, through its leadership and dedicated efforts, will help the people of Nepal overcome the challenges and restore the affected areas to their normal conditions swiftly.
