Moscow: Colombia is considering the establishment of direct air services with Russia, as announced by its ambassador to Moscow, Jorge Ignacio Zorro. The initiative aims to enhance connectivity between the two nations and is currently under evaluation.
According to Lao News Agency, Ambassador Zorro stated the intention to discuss the feasibility of this plan with the Colombian Civil Aviation Authority and relevant airlines. The exploration of direct flights is a step towards strengthening bilateral relations and facilitating travel between Colombia and Russia. The ambassador revealed that discussions on this topic took place during a meeting in October between Colombian representatives and several Russian companies.
Russia currently maintains direct air connections with other Latin American countries, namely Cuba and Venezuela. Recently, a new direct flight route was established between Caracas and St. Petersburg, operated by the Venezuelan airline Conviasa. The route was inaugurated on November 1 at a ceremony at Simon Bolivar International Airport in Maiquetia.
