Manila: Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) announced plans to increase flight frequencies to several international destinations in the coming months, specifically targeting Bangkok, Thailand; Da Nang, Vietnam; Melbourne, Australia; and Sapporo, Japan.
According to Philippines News Agency, flights between Cebu and Bangkok (via Don Mueang) will increase to four times weekly from the current thrice weekly schedule, starting on October 26. Meanwhile, beginning October 28, Cebu Pacific will increase the frequency of flights between Manila and Da Nang, from daily to 10 times weekly, with twice daily flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Additionally, Cebu Pacific will start operating daily flights between Manila and Sapporo, an increase from the current thrice weekly service, beginning December 10. Flights between Manila and Melbourne will also see an increase, going from four to five weekly flights starting on December 12.
'These additional frequencies reflect Cebu Pacific's ongoing commitment to provide more accessibility, flexibility, and convenience to our valued passengers. As travel demand continues to rise, these expanded services allow us to better connect Filipinos to the rest of the world and welcome more visitors to the Philippines," CEB president Xander Lao stated in a news release.
The airline's increased connectivity is expected to play a significant role in stimulating tourism, enabling business opportunities, and strengthening economic ties with neighboring countries in the Asia Pacific region. Cebu Pacific, led by the Gokongwei family, currently services 37 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates.
