Pakse: President Thongloun Sisoulith participated in a tree-planting event in Pakse City aimed at promoting environmental conservation. The activity was organised to encourage and mobilise people across the country to actively engage in the protection, management, and development of forests and the natural environment. The initiative seeks to create a greener, richer, and more sustainable future.

According to Lao News Agency, the tree-planting event also aimed to raise awareness among children and young people about the significance of forests and natural resources. Forests are crucial for protecting soil and water resources, preserving biodiversity, and mitigating the impacts of climate change-functions that cannot be replicated by human intervention.

The event was attended by Alounxay Sounnalath, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Champasak Provincial Party Committee, alongside the President of the Provincial People's Council. Other attendees included the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the President of the Provincial Administration Organisation, and members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee.

On the occasion, General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith also presented gifts to local schoolchildren, further highlighting the importance of engaging younger generations in environmental stewardship.
