Minister of Information receives new UNDP Representative

Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Mrs. Suansavanh Viyaket received in Vientiane on July 24 a courtesy call from new Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to the Lao PDR Mrs. Martine Thérer.

Expressing a warm welcome to the guest, Minister Suansavanh Viyaket highly valued the relations and cooperation as well as the assistance of UNDP to the Lao PDR. As for the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, the UNDP has provided assistance including the establishment of community radio stations, improvement of tourist sites affected by Covid-19 pandemic.

The minister expressed her confidence that under the leadership of Mrs. Martine Thérer, the UNDP to the Lao PDR will be able to continue to strengthen the cooperation and support to the Lao PDR in line with the development priorities of the Lao government.

In reply, the new representative of UNDP expressed her thanks to the minister for her warm welcome and assured her that she and the UNDP to the Lao PDR will continue to increase cooperation with the government of Laos to actively implement programmes that facilitate the fulfillment of development priorities in the Lao PDR.
