Hangzhou: Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith's state visit to China has commenced with his arrival at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, where he and his delegation were welcomed by Chinese officials led by Shen Zhou, Deputy Head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The reception also included Lao Ambassador to China Somphone Sichaleune, the Consul General of the Lao PDR in Shanghai, along with embassy and consular staff.
According to Lao News Agency, the visit is being conducted at the invitation of Xi Jinping, Party General Secretary and President of the People's Republic of China. The state visit aims to further solidify the long-standing friendship and comprehensive strategic co-operation partnership between Laos and China, with a focus on advancing the building of a Laos-China community with a shared future.
The visit seeks to deepen co-operation under the 'Four Goods' relationship framework, promoting bilateral ties of higher quality and standards. During his time in China, President Thongloun and his delegation are expected to engage in talks with senior Chinese leaders, connect with the leadership of Zhejiang Province, and tour key sites and production facilities. These activities are intended to enhance exchanges and explore further co-operation opportunities between the two nations.
