Manila: The Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 in Caraga has launched its Media Action Center (MAC) to act as the region's official election information hub, just five days before the May 12 national and local elections. This initiative aims to enhance communication and provide real-time updates regarding election security operations.
According to Philippines News Agency, the center, located at the Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez headquarters, is equipped with Wi-Fi and features workstations and monitoring equipment specifically designed for journalists. Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano, Director of PRO-13, emphasized the importance of the MAC in fostering a unified effort between police and media to promote public awareness through accurate information.
Brig. Gen. Abrahano urged the public and journalists alike to verify information through official channels to maintain the integrity of the elections. He highlighted the role of the center in combating misinformation during the electoral period, ensuring that the public receives reliable updates.
