Laos Culture Ministry Reviews Organisational Plan for 2021-2025

Vientiane:The Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Laos has undertaken a comprehensive review of its organisational strategy for the period of 2021-2025, with a primary focus on enhancing its structural framework and cultivating future leadership within the ministry.

According to Lao News Agency, the review meeting took place on November 4, 2026, under the leadership of Minister of Culture and Tourism Suansavanh Vignaket, who also serves as the secretary of the ministry's Party Committee. The meeting was attended by members of the Party Committee and ministry officials.

The gathering was aimed at implementing resolutions from the 12th National Organisational Conference and the ministry Party Committee's sixth congress. These resolutions are to be translated into actionable plans concerning work, personnel, and budget allocations.

In her remarks, Minister Suansavanh emphasized the importance of effective leadership demonstrated through personal example. She urged leaders and Party committees at all levels to prioritize recruitment based on performance rather than seniority, clearly define roles and job descriptions, enforce civil service discipline, develop specialist staff, and ensure adequate support for retired employees.

The participants engaged in reviewing reports on the ministry's organisational accomplishments over the past five years, preparations for an upcoming three-level conference, and strategies for staff training and development. Additionally, they discussed the dissemination of crucial documents from the Party Central Committee.

Minister Suansavanh stated that the review is intended to guide efforts to strengthen the Party organisation and enhance the efficiency of organisational and personnel systems, thereby supporting the country's cultural and tourism development.
