Young Entrepreneur Achieves Over 100 Million Kip Annual Income Through Integrated Farming

Vientiane:Despite holding a degree in law, Monlady chose to return to her hometown to continue her parents' agricultural legacy and create her own path to success.

According to Lao News Agency, Monlady has been restructuring her family's land since 2020, focusing on rice cultivation, vegetable farming, and animal husbandry. This diversified farming approach not only generates multiple income streams but also mitigates agricultural risks.

Rice farming, a family tradition, has been modernized for greater efficiency, with Monlady emphasizing high-quality seed selection and proper cultivation techniques. This sector alone earns her an average of 50 to 60 million kip annually. Additionally, she utilizes vacant spaces for vegetable cultivation, selling surplus produce to local vendors, generating 30 to 40 million kip per year. Her livestock operation, including buffaloes, pigs, goats, poultry, and fish, ensures food security and provides supplementary income of 20 to 30 million kip annually.

Monlady faced initial challenges like lack of experience and adverse weather but overcame them by continually refining her methods and embracing government support, which played a crucial role in enhancing her production. Her integrated farming now yields over 100 million kip annually.

She advises young people to consider integrated farming as a career, emphasizing the importance of utilizing existing strengths, continuous learning, and careful planning to meet market demands. Monlady believes young entrepreneurs can build stable livelihoods and contribute to community economic development.
