Lao Foreign Ministry Press Delegation Strengthens Cooperation with Vietnam

Vientiane: Mr. Somkhit Vanhkham, Director-General of the Press Department and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, led a delegation on an official working visit to Vietnam and paid a courtesy call on Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.

According to Lao News Agency, Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang warmly welcomed the Lao delegation and emphasized that the visit would further strengthen cooperation between the two foreign ministries, particularly their respective press departments. She highlighted the significance of the visit following the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, which have advanced bilateral ties as a relationship of 'great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic partnership.'

Ms. Hang called for continued exchange of experiences, closer coordination, and greater sharing of views on international issues of mutual interest. She also encouraged both sides to promote accurate and positive information about bilateral relations and developments in each country, with a focus on engaging younger generations.

Mr. Somkhit expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and noted that cooperation between the two press departments has been maintained for many years, reflecting the importance both countries attach to their longstanding friendship and solidarity. During the visit, the Lao delegation will exchange experiences with Vietnamese counterparts on public relations, foreign information dissemination, press briefings, and external communications.
