Vientiane: During the cordial meeting, Ambassador Yazar extended her heartfelt congratulations to Mr Kikeo on his new leadership role within the LFND. She also praised the successful outcome of the 12th National Congress of the Lao Front for National Development, describing it as a significant milestone for Laos' national unity and development agenda.
According to Lao News Agency, the Turkish Ambassador went on to highlight Trkiye's ongoing support for Laos through the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA). She noted that assistance has been delivered across multiple sectors, including public health, education, agriculture, labour, and social welfare. Special emphasis was placed on skills development programmes for youth and women, as well as humanitarian aid and natural disaster relief efforts in various parts of Laos.
In response, Mr Kikeo expressed his deep gratitude to the Turkish Embassy and the people of Trkiye for their continued solidarity with Laos. He specifically acknowledged Trkiye's recent donation of dry food supplies to 238 families in Champasak province who had been affected by natural disasters, with the aid being channelled through the LFND.
Concluding the meeting, the LFND President wished Ambassador Yazar good health and success in her diplomatic mission. He reaffirmed Laos' commitment to further nurturing the growing friendship and cooperation between Laos and Trkiye, expressing hope that the partnership would continue to flourish and yield ever more fruitful results for both nations.
The meeting reflects the warm and steadily expanding relations between the two countries, with both sides pledging to explore new avenues for collaboration in the years ahead.
