Vietnam and Laos Bolster Bilateral Cooperation Across Multiple Sectors

Vientiane: The foreign ministries of Laos and Vietnam have committed to further strengthening their cooperation across various fields. This commitment was reaffirmed by a Vietnamese diplomat who emphasized the effective implementation of a bilateral cooperation agreement and joint action programme on economic diplomacy.



According to Lao News Agency, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam led a delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos to congratulate Lao Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane on the 80th anniversary of the Lao diplomatic service. The occasion was marked by the presentation of a bouquet and a congratulatory letter from Le Hoai Trung, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.



Ambassador Tam lauded Laos for its achievements over the decades, attributing significant contributions to its diplomatic service. He expressed confidence that the Lao diplomatic sector will continue to enhance its international standing and contribute to building a peaceful and prosperous nation. He highlighted the enduring ‘great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation’ between Vietnam and Laos, emphasizing the practical and effective deepening of bilateral relations through close coordination between the two foreign ministries.



Lao Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane reaffirmed his ministry’s commitment to continue close coordination with Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese embassy. He pledged to implement high-level agreements effectively and promote joint strategic projects, as well as strengthen links between various ministries, sectors, and localities.



During the meeting, both the minister and the ambassador discussed measures to further enhance cooperation between the two Parties and countries, underscoring the importance of maintaining close collaboration and sharing information and experience at regional and international forums.
