Vice President Pany Yathortou receives outgoing US Ambassador

Vice President Pany Yathortou received a farewell visit from outgoing Ambassador of the United States to the Lao PDR Peter M. Haymond.

Extending warm welcome to the ambassador, Vice President Pany highly appreciated Ambassador Haymond for his fulfillment of his diplomatic task in the Lao PDR. she noted that such achievements have contributed significantly to strengthening the relations and cooperation between Laos and the U.S.

The Vice President also expressed gratitude to the US government for providing assistance to the Lao PDR both within bilateral and multilateral frameworks.

She also wished the ambassador a safe home trip and a success in assuming his new responsibilities.

In reply, the US ambassador expressed thanks to the host for her warm welcome and gratitude to the Lao government for its provision of support, assistance and cooperation to him during his diplomatic tenure in the Lao PDR and expressed his hope that the Lao government will continue to provide cooperation to his successor thus further strengthening the relations and cooperation between the two countries.
