The Turkish government has provided LAK467 million (over US$46,000) to support anti-Covid-19 efforts in the Lao PDR.

The handover ceremony was held at the Ministry of Public Health, Vientiane on Nov 16 between Minister of Health Bounfeng Phommalaisith, and Turkish Ambassador to Laos Orhan Isik.

On this occasion, Dr Bounfeng appreciated the Turkish government for its generous contribution to the Lao government’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The funding will be used for the administration of quarantine facilities.

As of Nov 18, over 58,700 confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been recorded nationwide. The number included 116 deaths.
