TESDA, Honda open auto, motor servicing training center

MANILA: The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has partnered with auto manufacturer Honda in opening a motorcycle and automotive training center inside the TESDA Complex in Taguig City.

“TESDA is committed to providing quality-assured and inclusive technical education and skills development programs, aiming to transform the technical education and skills development of the Filipino workforce by offering world-class training for higher-level qualifications in motorcycle and automotive servicing,’ Director General Suharto Mangudadatu said in a statement Tuesday.

The center, inaugurated on Monday, will also serve as an assessment center.

Enrollees will be taught motorcycle and automotive maintenance and repair.

The center will provide the students with advanced training using Honda technologies as well as hands-on experience.

Honda will help graduates get employment in their companies and dealers, according to TESDA.

In 2022, TESDA also opened a car care training center inside its
complex, also for the use of automotive students.

The center was established in partnership with oil firm Petron, which also shared technical knowledge on automotive servicing.

The set of equipment and tools found at the TESDA-Petron Car Care Center was designed to carry out preventive maintenance servicing (service brake system, change oil, wheel balance, wheel alignment, etc.) for cars and light vehicles.

On the other hand, the TESDA-Honda center focuses on automotive servicing and repair of engine, under chassis, electrical system, transmission, power train, engine overhaul, and the set-up for motorcycles and small engines.

“Once the courses are developed and registered until the first quarter of 2025, the TESDA-Honda center can accommodate at least 25 learners each for Automotive Servicing and Small Engine Repair and Motorcycle Servicing. The target is to conduct two batches of training per course per year, ” Mangudadatu told the PNA.
