Vientiane:The Study in Japan Fair, aimed at promoting higher education opportunities for Lao students, was held with notable attendees including Saengsaden Bounlavong, Director General of the Department of International Relations at the Ministry of Education and Sports, and Souksakhone Sengsulivong, Deputy Director of LJI. Representatives from the Embassy of Japan, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japanese universities, and other education-related organizations also participated in the event.
According to Lao News Agency, since 2008, LJI has collaborated with the Japanese Embassy and JICA to organize activities that promote study opportunities, thereby facilitating academic exchanges and helping Lao students pursue higher education degrees in Japan.
This year's fair featured representatives from several Japanese universities such as Asia University, Nagasaki University, Okayama University, and Musashino University, along with Oji Language School. The Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) and the Japan Alumni Association of Laos were also present.
The program included various activities like university presentations, scholarship briefings, and experience-sharing sessions with Lao alumni of Japanese universities. Participants had the chance to consult directly with university representatives regarding admission requirements, academic programs, and scholarship applications, including those under the Japanese government's Monbukagakusho (MEXT) programme.
The fair aims to widen educational prospects for Lao students, enhance collaboration between Japanese universities and the National University of Laos, and support human resource development through international education initiatives.
