Vientiane: Soukchaleun Farm Company Limited is expanding its integrated chicken egg production chain to strengthen domestic supply, reduce production costs, and provide more reliable support to layer farmers. Mr. Bounyalith Soukchaleun, President of Soukchaleun Farm Company Limited, shared the company's developments, emphasizing an integrated system that encompasses parent stock, chicks, pullets, and animal feed. This system aims to enhance control over production quality, poultry health, hygiene, and costs, while aligning output with market demand.
According to Lao News Agency, Soukchaleun Farm is developing its own parent stock to supply quality chicks at affordable prices. The company plans to start selling 18-week-old pullets to farmers in 2027, providing technical guidance on poultry management, vaccination, disease prevention, cost reduction, and productivity improvement. Additionally, an egg buy-back scheme is under consideration to assist farmers in managing market risks.
Soukchaleun Farm operates two major production bases located in Champasak Province and Nasaythong District, Vientiane Capital, each housing approximately 500,000 laying hens. Utilizing modern closed-system facilities, the farms currently produce about 900,000 eggs daily, which is around 90% of their combined capacity.
Furthermore, the company is planning to develop its own feed production and expand production support and market access for farmers. This initiative is anticipated to bolster domestic food supply, generate employment, and contribute to the development of a more stable poultry production chain in Laos.
