Senior Party Official Welcomes Lao Provincial Delegation in Hanoi

Hanoi: Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat, Tran Cam Tu, hosted a reception in Hanoi for Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of Laos' Salavan province, Padeumphone Sonthany. The visit to Vietnam is part of a study and thematic exchange, closely following Party General Secretary To Lam's visit to Laos for its 50th National Day celebrations and the high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

According to Lao News Agency, Tu emphasized the significance of the Party chief's visit, which coincided with Laos' 50th National Day and the 105th birth anniversary of President Kaysone Phomvihane. This occasion marked a reflection on the struggles of the Lao people and their commitment to independence and unity. Tu congratulated Laos on its achievements in national construction and reform over the past decades, and noted the preparations for the upcoming 12th National Party Congress as pivotal for Laos' future development.

Vietnam's commitment to assisting Laos in its renewal and development was underscored by Tu, who expressed readiness to share experiences and prioritize assistance for Laos in strategic tasks. He highlighted the importance of regular exchanges between the two Parties, which reinforce their close relationship and provide a platform for sharing theoretical and practical advancements in political system development.

The host expressed satisfaction with the strengthening friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, which contribute significantly to political stability, national defence-security, and socio-economic development. Tu affirmed Vietnam's dedication to preserving and nurturing this bilateral relationship for future generations, underscoring its strategic importance to both nations' security and development.

Padeumphone Sonthany congratulated Vietnam on its achievements during four decades of Doi Moi (renewal) and expressed confidence in the CPV's leadership to guide Vietnam towards greater successes. He praised the special Laos-Vietnam relationship, recognizing the benefits it brings to both peoples, and pledged to uphold and strengthen this bond for future generations.
