Ramos, Avanzado rule IronKids triathlon

MANILA: Euan Arrow Ramos came up with another brilliant performance to claim victory in the boys’ 13-14 category of the Choco Hero IronKids at Subic Bay Boardwalk, Zambales on Saturday.

Ramos, representing Baguio Benguet Triathlon, clocked 22 minutes and 37 seconds (3:11 swim, 10:52 bike and 6:51 run). Joan Marcelo placed second with a time of 24:05, followed by David Mora (24:31).

“It’s a rewarding feeling to cross the finish line first again here in Subic,” Ramos, a student of Small World Christian School Foundation, said.

He also ruled the Super Sprint 13-15 category of the Subic Bay International Triathlon (SuBIT) last month.

Meanwhile, Eleora Avanzado clocked 26:34 (3:43 swim, 12:32 bike and 08:15 run) to rule the girls’ division of the 250m swim, 6km bike ride and 2km run competition.

Celinda Raagas submitted a total time of 26:49 to secure second place, while Eliesse Dela Cruz was third (29:01).

In the 11-12 category (200m swim, 4km bike, and 1.5km run), Kurt Cruz won the boys’ division in 20:35
(2:56 swim, 8:41 bike, and 6:40 run). Travis Acuavera (21:29) was second and Phil Cayetano (22:25) was third.

Maria Isabella Raagas dominated the girls’ division with a time of 21:15. Venice Delantar (22:20) and Nicole Thomas (23:05) finished second and third, respectively.

Enzo Gabito and Zyler Nicanor ruled the 9-10 class (150m swim, 4km bike and 1.5km run).

Gabito clocked 20:43 (02:47 in the swim, 08:25 in the bike, and 07:05 in the run) to beat Oliver Alingarog (20:48) and Chris Lacuna (21:05) in the boys’ division.

Nicanor, on the other hand, won the girls’ division in 21:01 (2:14 swim, 9:04 bike and 7:28). Elise Salas (21:59) was second and Kirsten Cruz (22:24) third.

In the youngest 6-8 category (100m swim, 2km bike and 1km run), the top three in the boys’ division were Christoph Cruz (15:36), Oliver Haworth (15:59), and Nathaniel Macasaet (16:13), while in the girls’ division were Samantha Thomas (14:17), Juriel Julian (14:55), and Queen Nicanor (17:15).

Winners in the relay competitions were Te
am TriClark Scania, Team NAS Kids, Team SPED G and Team Olongapo Junior Trackers.
