PRO-11 chief challenges Quiboloy to yield, act as ‘true leader’

DAVAO: The chief of the Police Regional Office in the Davao Region (PRO-11) on Tuesday challenged Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy to surrender and “act as a true leader.”

‘This is the right time for him to show his followers he is a leader. He is claiming to be the appointed son of God, and he needs to show the people that he is [indeed] a leader,’ PRO-11 director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III said here during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas forum.

Quiboloy is wanted for sexual abuse and human trafficking and has a PHP10 million bounty for his arrest. His five co-accused, Crisente, Pauleen, and Ingrid, all surnamed Canada, Sylvia Cemañes, and Jackielyn Roy, each have a PHP1 million bounty.

Pauleen Canada was arrested last month in an intelligence-driven operation by authorities.

‘It is an order by law, by the judge, that Pastor Quiboloy has a non-bailable case. He has to submit himself to the court’s jurisdiction, so this case will end,’ Torre said.

He said he met the top offi
cials of KOJC on Monday at the Senate during Senator Ronald Dela Rosa’s committee investigation.

During the meeting, he said he reiterated to KOJC officials that the Philippine National Police will continue to pursue Quiboloy, as long as the warrant of arrest remains valid.

‘You have your warrant, face it. Your lawyers can do nothing if you will not face the judge and argue [your defense],’ Torre said.
