President To Lam has assumed the chairmanship of the Steering Committee tasked with reviewing theoretical and realistic issues related to Vietnam’s four-decade-long socialist-oriented Doi Moi (renewal) process, under a decision of the Politburo. The announcement came at the committee’s third meeting in Hanoi on June 12. The Politburo also named permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Luong Cuong as the committee’s standing deputy head.
