Mandaluyong City: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will lead the miting de avance of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas' Senate slate in Mandaluyong City on Friday to promote the 'Bagong Pilipinas' agenda of unity, reform, and strong national leadership.
According to Philippines News Agency, after 16 major rallies, Alyansa's 11 senatorial candidates will cap the nationwide campaign along Mandaluyong City's Nueve de Febrero Street and make a final push to woo Filipino voters.
Alyansa's campaign manager, Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco, stated that Marcos would deliver a message of unity and gratitude at the Mandaluyong rally as Alyansa seeks to lock in support from Metro Manila and neighboring provinces. Tiangco emphasized the rally's significance in showcasing the strength and unity of the Filipino people behind Alyansa and the vision of Bagong Pilipinas.
From the first rally in Laoag to the final stage in Mandaluyong, Tiangco noted that the message remains consistent - Filipinos desire a Senate that delivers results for them. He stressed that Alyansa's senatorial ticket is focused on national interest and not on the 2028 elections.
Tiangco urged voters to select candidates who will support President Marcos' legislative agenda and the people's interests until the end of his term, while avoiding those who are already eyeing the 2028 polls.
Alyansa launched its campaign in Marcos' stronghold, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte on February 11, followed by 15 other sorties across the country, including in vote-rich regions such as Calabarzon, Bulacan, Pangasinan, and Negros Occidental provinces.
The candidates under Alyansa include former interior secretary Benhur Abalos; Makati City Mayor Abby Binay; incumbent Senators Ramon Revilla Jr., Pia Cayetano, Lito Lapid, and Francis Tolentino; former senators Panfilo Lacson, Manny Pacquiao, and Vicente Sotto III; and lawmakers Erwin Tulfo and Camille Villar.
Recent surveys indicate that Alyansa candidates are gaining momentum, with all of them positioned to secure victories as the campaign enters its final phase. The coalition also participated in two province-wide 'suroy-suroy' caravans in March and April, visiting multiple towns and cities across Cebu to strengthen their grassroots presence in the province.
The Alyansa slate also attended local campaign rallies in four venues across the cities of Angeles and San Fernando in Pampanga on April 23. The coalition's Senate slate has received backing from prominent figures, major political parties, and influential local blocs, including the ruling Lakas - Christian Muslim Democrats, House of Representatives Speaker Martin Romualdez, and the 'Solid North,' a dominant voting bloc across Ilocano provinces.
