Papal Nuncio, Manila archbishop to lead Pope’s Day celebration

MANILA: Two top Catholic prelates in the country will lead the celebration of the Pope’s Day at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, Manila on June 29.

“The Solemn Eucharistic Celebration is to be presided by His Excellency Most Reverend Charles John Brown, Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, and His Eminence Jose Cardinal Advincula, Archbishop of Manila,” the Manila Cathedral said in a social media post on Monday.

The cathedral called on the faithful to join the Mass which would be held at 6 p.m.

The Pope’s Day is celebrated annually during the feast day of St. Peter and St. Paul.

The occasion is the Catholic Church’s foundational feast, in honor of these apostles considered the two pillars of the early Church.
