Pangasinan police opens 56 assistance desks for Oplan Balik Eskwela

MALASIQUI: The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) has opened 56 police assistance desks in strategic areas to cater to the schools as part of the Oplan Balik Eskwela 2024.

‘Anything na kailangan nila na serbisyo ng police ay maaring idulog sa mga assistance desks. Layunin nito na ilapit ang police station sa kanila (The public may avail of all police-related services from the assistance desks. These are aimed to make the police stations accessible to them),’ PPPO information officer Capt. Renan dela Cruz said in a phone interview on Tuesday.

Dela Cruz said 126 police personnel have been assigned to the assistance desks.

He said the assistance desks are on top of the 50 police express desks that were established prior to the school opening.

‘Aside from the assistance desks, we also deploy mobile and foot patrollers to ensure the safety of the learners and for peace and order. The foot patrollers monitor (the situations) inside the schools,’ he said.

Asked for his assessment on the peace and order
situation when classes in about 1,600 schools in the province opened on Monday, Dela Cruz said it was generally peaceful.

‘On behalf of the Pangasinan police headed by Col. Jeff Fanged, we assure the learners and the school staff that we will ensure their safety for the whole school year,’ he added.
