Palarong Pambansa bares game venues in Cebu

CEBU CITY: Palarong Pambansa organizers announced on Monday the list of venues in Metro Cebu for the July 6 to 17 multisport competition for elementary and secondary student athletes.

The organizing committee said the capital city will house athletes competing in 22 main events and four special games.

Acting Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia said assigning different venues shows the coordination between the public and private sector, as well as the willingness of other local government units to lend their facilities.

‘We have a common goal and that is to give our Filipino athletes memorable national games in Cebu,’ Garcia told the Philippine News Agency.

The main sports events with their corresponding venues are as follows:

Archery: South Road Properties grounds

Arnis: Mandaue Sports Complex

Athletics: Cebu City Sports Center

Badminton: MetroSports Center

Baseball: Filinvest City di Mare

Basketball (elementary boys 5×5): Hoops Dome, Lapu-Lapu City

Basketball (secondary boys 5×5): University of San Carlos-
Main

Basketball (secondary girls 5×5): University of San Carlos- North

Basketball 3×3: Cebu Eastern College Gym

Billiards: Il Corso Mall of Cebu

Boxing: Cebu Coliseum

Chess: University of the Philippines-Lahug

Dancesports: Gmall of Cebu

Football (elementary boys): Don Bosco Technical College and Sacred Heart School – Ateneo

Football (secondary boys): Cebu City Sports Center, Dynamic Herb – SRP, and University of San Carlos -Talamban

Futsal (secondary girls): Sacred Heart School – Ateneo

Aerobic gymnastics: University of the Visayas-Main

Artistic men and women gymnastics: Cebu Institute of Technology-University

Rhythmic gymnastics: University of Southern Philippines Foundation

Pencak Silat: University of Cebu (UC) METC

Sepak Takraw: Sacred Heart School -Ateneo

Softball: SM Seaside’s Lot 11

Table Tennis: Cebu Technological University-Main

The venues for the special games are Cebu City Sports Center for athletics; Bright Academy, bocce; Bright Academy, goalball; and Cebu City Sports Center, swimming.
