Pasay city: The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has committed PHP141 million for the donation of Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs) to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). These vehicles are set to be distributed across the country to enhance access to emergency medical transport and healthcare services, particularly in remote and underserved areas.
According to Philippines News Agency, a memorandum of agreement was signed at the PAGCOR Corporate Office in Pasay City to formalize this partnership. The donation includes 70 fully equipped PTVs, which PCSO will allocate to qualified local government units (LGUs). Each vehicle is equipped with a GPS navigation system, stretcher, medical oxygen, wheelchair, and first aid kit to ensure safe and efficient patient transfers during emergencies.
PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco emphasized that the donation aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s initiative to bolster the nation’s health and emergency response systems. Tengco stated, “These vehicles are not mere means of transport – they are lifelines that can spell the difference between life and death for those who need immediate medical attention.” He further noted the synergy between PAGCOR’s resources and PCSO’s expertise in health-related programs, aiming to reach more communities and save more lives.
This donation is part of PAGCOR’s broader commitment to supply a total of 246 PTVs to local government units, hospitals, and frontline agencies throughout the Philippines. Since February, PAGCOR has already delivered 60 PTV units to various beneficiary institutions and agencies.
