Bacolod: The City Tourism Development Office has established over 30 tourism information desks across Bacolod to enhance the experience for visitors attending the 46th MassKara Festival, particularly during the key events from October 17 to 19.

According to Philippines News Agency, the information desks are strategically placed in 25 hotels, four shopping malls, Bredco Port at the Reclamation Area, and Bacolod-Silay Airport. Ma. Teresa Manalili, the chief tourism operations officer, stated that these desks are designed to provide tourists with easy access to reliable information about the festival and various city attractions. “It’s our way of bringing assistance closer to where the people are,” Manalili added.

Both foreign and domestic tourists can seek help from these desks, which are staffed by tourism personnel and trained student volunteers. The desks provide event schedules, venue directions, tourism brochures, and travel information. Additionally, at the seaport and airport, VIPs and other guests are warmly welcomed with leis, symbolizing the city’s festive spirit and hospitality.

The tourism information desks will continue to serve visitors until the festival’s conclusion on October 19. The 19-day celebration will culminate with the Lacson Tourism Strip hosting the festival’s largest street party from October 17 to 19. Attendees will enjoy live performances, DJ sets, interactive installations, and cultural showcases across five stages along Lacson Street.

On the evening of October 17, various barangays will participate in the Electric MassKara competition, showcasing illuminated floats. The festival’s arena and street dance competitions will feature performances by seven elementary schools on October 18, while 10 barangays will compete on October 19, from the Paglaum Sports Complex to the Bacolod Public Plaza.
