Northeast monsoon to bring rains over Northern Luzon

Batanes and Babuyan Islands will experience cloudy skies with rains due to northeast monsoon or “amihan”, the weather bureau reported on Sunday. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), in its 4 a.m. bulletin, warned that possible flash floods or landslides were expected in this area due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains. The same weather system will impact Ilocos and the Cordillera Administrative Regions, and the rest of Cagayan Valley where partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected. In Cagayan and Isabela, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced due to shear line. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies and localized thunderstorms. Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds blowing northeast with moderate to rough coastal waters. The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds going east to northeast with slight to moderate coastal waters.
