NegOr police seize P2-M suspected ‘shabu’ in 2-day ops

DUMAGUETE: Police operatives in Negros Oriental seized some PHP2 million worth of suspected “shabu” during two days of intensified operations early this week.

Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), said Wednesday the achievement is the result of the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) held Monday and Tuesday across the province.

NOPPO records indicated that 10 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted with 12 persons arrested, and a total of 294.6 grams of suspected shabu were seized during the two-day period.

Of the total, the biggest haul was on Tuesday evening, when two suspects were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bajumpandan of this capital city.

Seized during the buy-bust were roughly 266.58 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of some PHP1.8 million, Polinar said.

The two suspects, both in their early 20s and both residents of this city, are tagged by the police as “high-value individua

Other SACLEO accomplishments include 22 operations against illegal gambling with 38 persons arrested; 43 operations against wanted persons with 43 arrests; 30 operations against loose firearms with 39 confiscated or surrendered firearms; two Oplan Katok operations with two firearms deposited for safekeeping; and 895 other persons apprehended for violations of ordinances.
