NA’s 5th Ordinary Session to be held next week

The 5th Ordinary Session of the National Assembly (9th legislature) will be held between June 26 and July 18, Secretary of the National Assembly Pingkham Lasasima told a press conference last week.

The three-week meeting is expected to discuss and make a decision on issues of national importance including Prime Minister’s report on the implementation of the national socio-economic development plan, the state budget plan and monetary plan in the first half of 2023 and targets set for the last six months.

NA’s meeting will also consider the government’s report on the implementation of two national agendas namely the National Agenda on Addressing Economic and Financial Difficulties, and the National Agenda on Addressing Drug Issues.

A report on the directions of investment and budget allocation for state investment projects in 2024 will be also read at the coming meeting.

Lawmakers are also expected to discuss the adoption of four new draft laws and six amendments to legal instruments during the implementation of the meeting.
