Laos has confirmed 731 new Covid-19 cases over the past 24 hours bringing the total to 27,607 including 6,393 and 24 deaths, according to the National Operation Centre for Covid-19.
Director General of the Department of Communicable Disease Control, Ministry of Health, Dr Rattanaxay Phetsouvanh told a press conference today that 5,484 people were tested for Covid-19 yesterday.
Of the new confirmed cases, 726 were classified as local infections and five as imported cases. The local infections included 450 in Vientiane, 65 in Borikhamxay, 56 in Luang Prabang, 42 each in Savannakhet and Vientiane (province), 26 in Bokeo, 19 in Khammuan, 12 each in Saravan and Champassak and two in Xaysomboun.
The five imported cases included three in Luang Prabang and two in Savannakhet.
