Laos has reported 547 new Covid-19 cases nationwide over the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 23,488 including 4,766 active cases and one new death raising the death toll to 17, according to the National Taskforce for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
Of these new confirmed cases, 535 were classified as local infections and 12 as imported cases, a press conference was told today.
The local infections were recorded in Vientiane 173, Khammuan 141, Champassak 61, Savannakhet 50, Luang Prabang 49, Vientiane (Province) 19.
Saravan reported 15 local infections, Bokeo documented 11, Borikhamxay detected 6, Xaysomboun had 4, and Xekong and Attapeu logged two each as Xieng Khuang and Luang Namtha witnessed one each.
The imported cases included five in Champassak, three each in Savannakhet and Saravan and one in Vientiane.
