Some 447 new Covid-19 cases of Covid-19 have been recorded nationwide over the past 24 hours with the total accumulated since March 2020 reaching 21,527 including 4,403 active cases and 16 deaths.
Deputy Director General of the Department of Communicable Diseases Control, Ministry of Health, Dr Sisavath Soutthanilaxay told a press conference today that the new infections were detected among 7,674 people tested for Covid-19.
Of the new confirmed cases, 428 were classified as local infections and 19 as imported cases.
The local infections were detected in Vientiane 207, Khammuan 72, Champassak 50, Luang Prabang 41, Xaysomboun 21, Savannakhet 12, Luang Prabang 12, Vientiane (Province) nine, Bokeo and Borikhamxay six each, Xieng Khuang three and Luang Namtha one.
The imported cases included 10 in Savannakhet, seven in Saravan, one each in Champassak and Khammuan.
