Laos has recorded 241 new cases of Covid-19 over the past twenty-four hours including one local infection in the northern province of Xayaboury.
These 240 new Covid-19 cases – returning workers from Thailand – included 143 infections detected in Savannakhet, 48 in Champassak, 34 in Saravan, 12 in Vientiane and three in Khammuan.
Since March 2020, Laos has recorded 5,675 confirmed cases of Covid-19 including 2,691 active cases and six fatalities.
Over 1.9 million people in the Lao PDR have been vaccinated against Covid-19 with 1,070,856 people given first shots and 842,091 given second doses as of Jul 26, 2021, according to the Centre of Information and Education for Health, Ministry of Health.
