Vientiane: The grand finale of the fourth ‘Lao Sing Chinese Songs’ competition was held in Vientiane on Friday, drawing an audience of nearly 1,000 people from both Laos and China. The event showcased not only musical talent but also the deepening friendship and cultural ties between the two nations.
According to Lao News Agency, Wang Chang, Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Laos, highlighted that the competition represented far more than a stage for artistic performance. He remarked that music serves as a bridge for cultural exchange, fostering mutual appreciation and understanding between the two countries. This event, he noted, injects new vitality into the enduring China-Laos friendship.
Mr. Phakhanxay Sikhanxay, Director General of the Heritage Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, emphasized that the contest is a significant platform for Lao-Chinese cultural exchange. It plays a vital role in strengthening traditional ties and enhancing mutual understanding between the nations.

ince its launch in August, the competition has attracted hundreds of Lao enthusiasts of Chinese music. After several rounds of auditions and performances, 12 finalists advanced to the final stage. Ultimately, 23-year-old Sirisone from Vientiane won the top prize with a performance that captivated both judges and audiences.
The event was jointly organized by the Chinese Cultural Center in Laos and the Lao Ministry of Culture and Tourism, demonstrating their shared commitment to promoting cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between Laos and China.
