Lao ODOP trade fair held in Vientiane

The 9th One District, One Product (ODOP) trade fair was officially opened with more than 160 booths of ODOP and model families’ products from nine districts of Vientiane. The 9th One District, One Product (ODOP) trade fair was officially opened with more than 160 booths of ODOP and model families’ products from nine districts of Vientiane.

The ODOP trade fair held under the theme of “Promote domestic production and use of Lao products”

“The trade fare is being held at the Lao-ITECC in Vientiane, from Sept 2-10 with the aim of promoting and increasing the production of ODOP, high quality products according to ODOP standards” .

Presence at the event were Vientiane Mayor, Adsapangthong Siphandone and Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Manothong Vongxay.

The trade fair also aims to develop entrepreneurs and promote the production of potential products each villages and districts in Vientiane to ensure they become competitive businesses that are able to supply products domestically and abroad.

It also promotes unique products, culture, and tourism service at community, village and district levels, and to promote the exchange of lessons among the business community and ODOP products in a sustainable manner.

The trade fare drew over 148 booths displaying ODOP products produced in nine districts in Vientiane and the provinces of Luang Prabang, Luang Namtha, Oudomxay, Borikhamxay, Khammuane, Savannakhet, Champasack, Saravan and Vientiane.
