Vientiane: Mr. Laopaoxong Navongxay, Vice President of the Lao Front for National Construction, emphasized the crucial role of media in ensuring that people across Laos understand and support national policies. This understanding contributes to social stability and national development.

According to Lao News Agency, Mr. Laopaoxong highlighted the media's role in advancing the Party's two strategic tasks, noting that media outlets also convey public concerns, opinions, and aspirations to the Party and State. This communication enables policymakers to respond effectively to the needs of the people.

Mr. Laopaoxong noted that media has been significant throughout Laos' modern history. During the struggle for national independence, the Lao Issara newspaper played a key role in mobilizing public support for the revolutionary movement. Since the establishment of the Lao PDR in 1975, there has been an expansion of newspapers, radio, television, and news agencies. Digital media and artificial intelligence have further transformed information delivery.

He also highlighted the development of media under the Lao Front for National Construction, which includes newspapers, magazines, radio and television programs, websites, YouTube channels, mobile applications, and social media platforms.

Mr. Laopaoxong mentioned that 11 provinces now produce their own radio programs, while all provinces and districts operate official online platforms, particularly Facebook pages, to strengthen public communication and broaden access to information.
