Hanoi: Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Mrs. Khamphao Ernthavanh led a Lao Embassy delegation in a friendship exchange under the theme 'Colors of ASEAN Culture 2026' in Hanoi on August 19, 2026.
According to Lao News Agency, the event was jointly organised by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations and the Embassy of the Philippines in Vietnam. The occasion was held to celebrate Vietnam's National Day, ASEAN's 59th anniversary, and Vietnam's 31st anniversary of ASEAN membership.
The programme included traditional music, costumes, and folk dances representing Vietnam and ASEAN member states. It also featured an exhibition of Hanoi's One Commune, One Product (OCOP) goods and traditional textiles and silk from ASEAN countries.
The Lao Embassy contributed to the event with a cultural performance by Lao students studying in Hanoi. Additionally, they displayed traditional Lao handicrafts and textiles, offering a glimpse into Lao culture.
The event aimed to promote Lao culture and products, strengthen cultural exchanges, and foster friendship with ASEAN countries and the international diplomatic community in Vietnam. It also encouraged visitors to explore Laos and its cultural heritage.
