Vientiane:Lao Deputy Health Minister recently convened a meeting with representatives from the Ministry of Health, the University of Health Sciences, and relevant health departments and hospitals to discuss ongoing project activities with the ASSEA delegation.

According to Lao News Agency, the current focus of the project activities is on technical discussions, as the parties anticipate the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.

The Department of Hygiene and Health Promotion has also requested ASSEA's support for a dissemination meeting regarding the Decree on Health Impact Assessment and the economic implications of banning asbestos imports and use in the Lao PDR.

The meeting is set to take place on October 28 at Don Chan Palace Hotel, with Dr. Vannasay as the chairperson. A subsequent technical meeting aimed at continuing the project design is scheduled for October 29.
