Lai Chau landscape transforms with new crop planting season

From late May to early June each year, Lai Chau landscape transforms to colourful glazing fields of flooded terraced rice fields. Water from gullies on the mountains and forests cascades down below, filling up all the terraced rice fields. From a distance, the fields look like large mirrors, reflecting colours from the sky above, radiant when the sun rises, blue with fluffy white clouds during the day, or golden at sunset. Scattered in between the shimmering fields, there are some that have been tinged with the green shade of rice seedlings and newly planted rice. On the fields, locals in Muong Te, Sin Ho and Phong Tho districts are working hard to irrigate their fields and plough the land for a new planting season.
