Tokyo: Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba sent a letter of condolence to his Lao counterpart, Sonexay Siphandone, following the passing of former President Khamtay Siphandone.
According to Lao News Agency, the message expressed Japan’s deepest condolences to the Siphandone family, the Lao Government, and the people of Laos. Former President Khamtay Siphandone was acknowledged for his role in Laos’ development during a time of significant change and for strengthening ties with Japan during his visit as Prime Minister.
