MANILA: Authorities launched a manhunt against three detainees who escaped from the Fishport Custodial Taytay Facility in Rizal province at the height of bad weather on Tuesday morning.
The Taytay Municipal Police Station (MPS) identified the three escapees as Danny Boy Cancino and Ronald Barrera, both facing drug charges, and Kurt Cavasal, who was charged with illegal possession of firearms.
Initial reports said a prison guard discovered the jailbreak at the facility located in Samagta Floodway, Barangay San Juan at about 4:45 a.m.
Amid inclement weather, the escapees destroyed the metal frame of the facility’s kitchen and subsequently escaped.
The Taytay MPS has offered a reward of PHP10,000 for each escapee in exchange for information that would lead to their arrest.
