Manila: The high public trust in President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reflects Filipinos’ appreciation of his efforts to bring progress and his initiatives to curb corruption in government, Malaca±ang said Wednesday. This comes in light of the recent results from the Social Weather Stations Survey (SWS), which indicate that 43 percent of adult Filipinos have trust in Marcos.

According to Philippines News Agency, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro expressed her views on the survey results, welcoming them as a positive sign of the public’s recognition of President Marcos’s work. Castro emphasized that President Marcos is perceived as genuinely working and fighting against corruption, highlighting his relentless efforts to improve the lives of Filipinos amidst various calamities.

While President Marcos may not prioritize survey numbers, Castro noted that he is encouraged by the growing sentiment among Filipinos that his administration is supportive and present for them. She mentioned that the public is becoming more discerning about who truly works for their welfare and who is primarily motivated by personal interests.

The SWS survey, conducted from September 24 to 30, revealed that 43 percent of Filipinos have ‘much trust’ in Marcos, while 36 percent have ‘little trust,’ and 21 percent remain undecided. This marks a decline from the 48 percent trust level recorded in June 2025.

The survey results were released in the context of an investigation by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) into questionable flood control projects. President Marcos had previously established the ICI as an independent body to lead the inquiry into these anomalies, underscoring his commitment to transparency and accountability in government initiatives.
